Location: South Florida (Boca Raton or North Miami)

Qualifications: Our firm primary practice is patent prosecution. We do not enforce or litigate I.P. cases. Therefore, you must be a member of the U.S. Patent Bar 

• Registered to Practice Before U.S. Patent Office
• At least 3 years of Experience in patent drafting and prosecution within a law firm or corporate I.P. department.

Responsibilities:

• Drafting patent applications.
• Managing domestic and international patent portfolios.
• Preparing responses to office actions.
• Communicating with foreign associates.
• Formulating and conducting patentability search strategies.
• Analyzing search results and advising clients on patentability.
• Supporting general IP matters, including patent licensing.

Additional Experience: The ideal candidate will have:

• Excellent academic performance in relevant disciplines.
• Strong skills in drafting patent applications, conducting inventor and examiner interviews, and preparing responses to office actions.
• Ability to interface effectively with in-house counsel and handle procedures like after-final practice and pre-appeal reviews.
• Supervise and manage paralegals and workflow.

Beneficial (but not required) Experience:

• Preparing patentability and freedom-to-operate opinions.
• Collaborating with foreign law firms for international prosecution.
• Participating in post-grant proceedings, such as inter partes review, reexamination, or reissue.
• Active member of the Florida Bar
